Business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community champions from across the region gathered for the prestigious West Suffolk Business Awards 2024, hosted at The Apex, Bury St Edmunds.

This much-anticipated event, now in its 13th year, celebrated excellence across 13 categories, spotlighting the remarkable achievements of West Suffolk’s business community.

With more than 200 nominations submitted, the awards highlighted the innovation, growth, and resilience of businesses across the region. The Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, proud sponsors of the event, congratulates all winners and highly commended businesses on their outstanding contributions to the local economy and community.

Recognising Small and Large Business Excellence

The Suffolk Chamber of Commerce was honoured to sponsor two of the awards: Business of the Year (Small) and Business of the Year (Medium/Large).

  • AWM Ltd was named Business of the Year (Small), recognised for their excellence in providing innovative weighing solutions in Bury St Edmunds.
  • Lark Technology Group Ltd, based in Woolpit, won Business of the Year (Medium/Large) for their advancements in industrial control and safety systems.

Both businesses have demonstrated exceptional commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainable growth, embodying the core values that the Suffolk Chamber aims to promote.

A Night of Celebration and Inspiration

The evening also featured a special Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to Daemmon Reeve, former CEO of Treatt Plc.

The Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is particularly pleased to see the emphasis on community impact, environmental responsibility, and innovation, which align with the Chamber’s own mission to support a thriving and interconnected business environment.

A Showcase of West Suffolk’s Talent

The event highlighted West Suffolk’s diverse business landscape, with awards for entrepreneurial achievements, community involvement, and leadership. Suffolk Chamber’s President Nick Evans said:

"We are thrilled to see so many local businesses and leaders recognised for their hard work and dedication. It is businesses like these that drive West Suffolk forward, creating jobs, fostering innovation, and making a real difference in their communities. Congratulations to all the winners, and we look forward to continuing to support you in your journey."

As Suffolk Mind was the charity partner for this year’s event, funds raised during the gala will contribute to mental health initiatives across the region, underscoring the community spirit that was evident throughout the night.
